Wyatt in 1869

Wyatt was born in Monmouth Illinios, in 1848. Wyatt family moved to Pella, Iowa in the early 1850's. Wyatt's older brothers : james Newton and Virgil went to fight in the civil war. Unfortunatly for Wyatt he was too young to enlist. Wyatt soon found that his family was on the move again, this time to California. Wyatt would get his first taste of fighting on the wagon train headed to California. Wyatt was about 16 years old and he had to help defend the train from an Indain attack. Wyatt worked on the family farm most of the time but he did take a few odd jobs.

Nichololas Earp would once again pack up his family this time to Lamar, Missouri. Wyatt would get his first job as a police officer. Wyatt married Urilla Sutherland. Urilla Sutherland would die soon after her marriage either of Typhoid fever or childbirth. Wyatt started drifting to the other side of the law after he became a widower. He was charged with fraud in Lamar and he was also charged with a horse theft. Both cases never went to court.

In Ellsworth, Kansas Wyatt arrested notorious toughman Ben Thompson while the rest of the town's deputies did nothing. In Wichita Wyatt would once again join the police force serving for 2 years. Wyatt was thought of very highly as a police officer. He was big, strong, brave, honest and most of all cool under pressure. Wyatt took a Job in Dodge City as Assistant Marshal. Wyatt killed George Hoy, after the later's party had shot up the town. At this point in Wyatt's life he was a well respected lawman. He solved problems with his fists instead of a gun. He made life long friends in Doc Holliday and Bat Masterton. He was well on his way to becoming a legend.

Wyatt was known as a great officer before he moved to Tombstone. Wyatt would rarely carry a gun because he solved most disputes by beating the crap out of any trouble makers. His favorite method was that of "Buffaloing" which was striking a tough guy over the head with his revolver. Wyatt's bravery was praised by all who knew him. He had the townsfolk behind him 100% which was a luxury he would not have in Tombstone. The least you should know is that Wyatt avoided bloodshed at all costs. He was not a mankiller. Sure he killed George Hoy but he did so to prevent innocent people from being killed.
